Saturday Market Staff

Hours: Casual basis - Saturdays 7am - 2pm.

Rate of Pay: £13.45 per hour (we are a Real Living Wage employer)

We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic people to run our Saturday market stall. The ideal person(s) will be inspired by our aims to improve access to good, nutritious food that doesn’t cost the earth. Perhaps you are a bit of a foodie, or a nutrition nut, you will fit into a team that loves swapping recipes with customers, updating them on what’s happening at the farm, and seeing where our bought in produce comes from. We need people who are energised, self motivated, reliable, organised and efficient.

Job Description:

Market staff will be responsible for setting up, packing down and running the market stall. A well organised and efficient individual, you will not be phased by managing the till, maintaining a neat till system on square space, cashing up, keeping a regular stock take and staying on top of price changes. The work place needs to remain organised and clean, with the barn being re-set after every market and the signage being updated often. You will be liaising with our operations and produce manager on stock, sales and customer feedback.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in retail and comfortable delivering friendly customer service

  • Some book keeping and stock management skills

  • Knowledge of, or keen to learn about, organic farming practices

  • Basic maths and English skills

  • Excellent communicator

  • Comfortable using tablets and smartphones, communicating across platforms and navigating different apps

  • Punctuality

  • Physical ability to lift heavy crates, stack produce, and clean and arrange the work space
