In joining the Soul Farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), I understand and agree to the following:
When you decide to become a CSA member, you are making a commitment to our farm, and we are very grateful for your trust.
I agree to select a payment level on the sliding scale that reflects my income and available resources, and I willingly participate in our community’s effort towards equity in a broken food system.
I understand that my membership is for the minimum period of 40 weeks and that this commitment whether a standing order or full share is vital to the success of the farm. I understand that there are NO refunds, full or partial, for cancellation of my CSA membership – and that by signing up I am committing to participating in the FULL season. If I choose to pay in instalments, I still commit to paying my balance in full and staying in communication with the Soul Farm team. I understand that should I wish to leave the scheme part way through the year I will find someone to take my membership.
I agree that my contact details may be shared with other CSA members for the purpose of administering and organising the CSA (e.g. completing a spreadsheet of membership details). Your details will not be used for any other purpose.
I understand that my share will be delivered weekly to the pick up location I select. If I am out of town or unable to pick up my CSA for any reason, I understand that it is my responsibility to find someone to collect my share for me. If my share is not picked up during the designated day/time window, I understand it will be donated and I will not receive credit or a refund for any shares that I do not pick up.
If you are away you understand you have one deferral in the season, or you have to let the team know that you either want it donated, time given to the farmers or gifted to a friend of yours.
I understand that I am responsible for bringing back any boxes (if our next risk assessment allows for us to go back to using boxes).
Sharing the risk
I understand that as a member, I share in both the bounty and the risks of farming
Farming is a seasonal and unpredictable undertaking. The share will vary from week to week depending on what is looking best in the fields at that time. Fluctuation and variations are inherent in farming (due to seasons, weather, pests, and other unforeseen forces of nature). Soul Farm will, to the best of its ability, provide the freshest, highest quality vegetables possible — however, I understand I am assuming a mutual risk with my farmer, and that I share in the bounty as well as in the risks of agriculture.
I understand that the risks include poor harvests due to unfavourable weather or pests, or the total loss of all crops due to a natural disaster such as fire, flood, or drought
